RMR

Q. How do I prepare for my RMR assessment?

From a 10 minute resting breath sample we are able to measure your body’s daily energy requirements. The assessment is a very simple process.

Please adhere to the following:

  • No strenuous exercise for a minimum of 12 hours prior to your assessment.
  • No eating or drinking (except water) for a minimum of 4 hours prior, but less than 12 hours.
  • No use of stimulants (nicotine or caffeine) for a minimum of 4 hours prior to your assessment.
  • No alcohol consumption for a minimum of 12 hours prior to your assessment.
  • No hot showers/baths for a minimum of 4 hours prior to your assessment.
  • Continue to take any prescribed medication as per normal.

Q. How often should I have an RMR assessment?

This is a very individual requirement. If you are undertaking significant training and metabolic conditioning we would suggest you could have one every 12 weeks to track the change. If this is not the case, and you are only trying to establish your calorie requirements, we would suggest a test every 12 months to ensure you stay on track with keeping your metabolism super charged.
